Writing Christmas cards seems to be a diminishing art. Many of us use electronic cards, texts, emails or don’t even bother.

 

When it comes to Christmas, I am old fashioned. My family and close friends will all receive a handwritten card which I make sure is sent out in time to reach people across the world.

 

As I have mentioned many times before, you should do what you are good at. At work and at home.

 

My husband (who won’t mind me saying this), wanted to help me with the cards this year, but sadly for him I do want the recipients to be able to read the cards. Husband’s handwriting is like that of a doctor-  I don’t need to say any more. 

 

Yes, in theory, he could help and do the cards, but he is not the best person in our family to do it. So although I was touched by his offer, I politely declined and suggested he take our dachshund for a walk instead.

 

It is the same with admin in your business. If you are a CEO or business owner, your focus should be on leading your team, getting new clients or making your products. It all depends on your business model. You should not have to worry about sending out meeting invitations or making sure your inbox is not exploding.

 

What is the best name for this action??  

Delegation.
